Common name

Description

Rhizome unknown. Fronds c. 55 cm long, herbaceous. Stipe c. 20 cm, scaly, densely hairy, with short hairs. Lamina oblong in outline, apex tapering, base abrupt truncate, pinnate; pinnae 16 oblong on both sides, reaching up to 8 cm, the lowest base more or less wedge-shaped, others abruptly truncate, subsessile, pinnately cut almost to the middle, surfaces glabrous, veins long hairy; tertiary nerves c 7 on each side, confluent basally, continuing to the sinus. Sori medial, arranged at the back of the nerve; indusia smooth, large, c. 1 mm, inflated. (Translated from latin, needs to be checked with specimens)

callensii: named after Callens, first collected this fern in Zongo, DRC.

Among rocks, near waterfall.
